Jazz
Patterns
Jazz Patterns
is an abstract
composition consisting
of many geometric
shapes and progressions
of colors. The
rhythmic patterns
were inspired
by listening to
jazz artists such
as John Coltrane
and Ornette Coleman
(of Fort Worth),
who is credited
with originating
the “Free
Jazz Movement.”
In the U.S., “free
jazz” coincided
with the Civil
Right Movement
and the “Avant-garde”
scene. Abstract
artists like Jackson
Pollock and others
often painted
and listened to
this music for
inspiration. |
